Our role as coach is often heard but
not seen, yet the results will be clearly visible to everyone.

Typically executive coaching works best
on a 1-to-1 basis. The aim is to establish a relationship over time where goals are set and the barriers to achieving those goals
are reduced.

Yet the executive coach is more. Often the coach is there to act as a sounding-board for new ideas and decisions.

At times adding new dimensions to them
or challenging their integrity.

Occasionally leadership direction needs to be questioned and the coach can help provide the right amount of facilitation to maintain healthy and constructive questioning so that the best decisions are made. Considering the needs of all stakeholders affected by the decisions.

A succession of good ideas and decisions implemented, with the aid of the coach, helps create leadership efficacy; a belief in ones own decision making ability, that instills further confidence in the team you're leading.

The ultimate aim of the coach is to phase out support to a minimum. Moving along the coaching continuum until the request for contact is not longer needed. Often, at this stage, the coach and leader have developed a lasting relationship more similar to friendship.
